Top Ingenieurleistungen, Pünktlichkeit und Organsiationstalent - das sind die typisch deutschen Eigenschaften, wenn man den Durchschnitts- kanadier befragt.
Freundlichkeit, Gelassenheit und Abenteuerlust - diese Attribute schreiben sich die Kanadier auch gerne selbst zu.
Wer gewinnt denn jetzt den Vergleich?
Auch wenn ich gar nicht gerne kategorisiert werde und auch niemand in eine Schublade stecken will, so ertappe ich mich doch manchmal selbst, wenn ich denke "Das war ja jetzt wieder typisch deutsch/kanadisch". Dabei geht es ja gar nicht darum, wer den Vergleich gewinnt, sondern was man von den sogenannten typischen Eigenschaften anderer lernen kann!
Wie wäre es denn mal mit einem abenteuerlustigen Ingenieur, gelassener Pünktlichkeit und freundlichem Organisationstalent?
Das klingt doch schon gleich viel besser - und wer nicht mag, der lässt es sein. Das sehe ich ganz gelassen...
Top engineering, punctuality and an almost scary talent for organizing - those are typical German qualities, as far as your average Canadian is concerned.
Friendly, easy-going and adventurous - this is how Canadians like to describe themselves.
So who wins?
Even though I really hate being categorized myself and try to avoid doing so to others, I can't help but catch myself thinking "now that was typical German/Canadian" from time to time...
But it is not about winning the "most popular" competition - it's a lot more about being able to learn from each other. So how about an adventurous engineer, easy-going punctuality or a friendly talent for organizing?
Sounds a lot better to me! And nobody has to participate, if they don't want to - I am pretty easy-going about that...
